Well, we at Satera Tuning are one of the leaders in the Mopar Commnunity when it comes to Flex Fuel. Here is why!
There are multiple options when it comes to "flex fuel"
1) INFERRED LOGIC Flex Fuel: Simplifying how it works... It is basically a complex math equation that uses o2 sensor readings to "guess" the ethanol content. There is no ethanol content sensor used. There are several things that can delay or inhibit the "learning" process. Which can skew the guessed ethanol reading. There are a couple very good tuners that have spent a lot of time on it and have very good settings to use. But we do like to make sure you know how it works.
2) PIGGY BACK Flex Fuel: basically a 2nd computer added on top of the OEM PCM. It uses an ethanol content sensor that feeds its signal into the Piggy Back unit. Then it intercepts the injector signal and alters the output to the injector. Downside to this system is timing is NOT adjusted in any way. Also, the OEM computer being tricked, does not know how much fuel is being consumed... so you lose out on very important safety settings and torque calculations
3) The Satera Tuning system - SaT.Tun Sensored Flex Fuel - We use an ethanol content sensor that feeds into the factory PCM. Based on this reading the tune then adjusts fuel, spark, torque calculations, and boost. Because our sensor is installed at the rail, it is 100% accurate based on what the actual content is going into your injectors. We are also the only system that has a boost bleed safety built in just in case ethanol is too low.
