Satera Tuning: Mopar & Coyote Tuning, Bigger Shop Coming

Site Updates 3 min read

Bigger shop, same rule: we're gearing up for HEMI muscle and Coyote power, with the move wrapping up in November and remote tuning running the whole way through.

We're packing up the dyno, the lifts, and the tools for a bigger home in Marengo, Illinois, and the rule we've always built by is coming with us: not race cars for the street. We build street cars you can race. The move is still in progress and wraps up in November. We'll share more once the new shop is set up.

Same crew, more room

This move is about room. It doesn't change who we are. Our owner and tuner has more than 15 years of tuning and custom calibration behind him, and in that time he's turned out countless 1500whp-plus-capable cars that can still be driven every day. The shop side has multiple expert technicians with 40+ years of combined experience. We're also dealers and partners with hundreds of parts manufacturers, "from brake pads, to twin turbo kits, to complete engines."

If you've followed us for a while, you know the track record. Our old shop car was a Charger Hellcat capable of 1500whp that ran sub-8.5-second quarter miles and stayed 100% street drivable. Our 2017 Charger Scat Pack 392 became a consistent 10.35 quarter-mile car while keeping as many stock parts as possible.

Not race cars for the street. We build street cars you can race.

Satera Tuning

Why Ford, why now

For years the Midwest has known us as the Dodge shop, and that isn't changing. What's new is a full program for 2011+ Fords, mainly Coyote-powered Mustangs. Parts, installation, and tuning are all done in house, the same way we handle every HEMI.

Proof on the rollers: the S650 Mustang GT

Here's what that looks like in practice: our S650 Mustang GT with a supercharged Coyote, long-tube headers, and an upgraded intake, tuned in house with HP Tuners.

Four Mustang generations, one approach

Our Ford lineup is split by generation: 2011–2014, 2015–2017, 2018–2023, and 2024+. Each one gets staged packages, from bolt-on Level 1 up through boosted builds. Take the 2015–2017 Mustang Level 1 Package. It covers the bolt-on basics every Gen 2 Coyote GT should have: a high-flow air filter, a Billet Evolution oil catch can, a Satera Tuning RTD device with HP Tuners credits, and a complete custom street and dyno tune. Transmission tuning is available as an add-on.

Not local? We'll tune it remotely

You don't have to live near us. Our RTD Complete Remote Tuning Kit for 2011+ Fords uses the HP Tuners RTD4 and the TDN app. Plug the RTD4 into the OBD-II port, connect with us in the app, and send your mod list and datalogs. You get back a custom calibration, then you flash, drive, and log while we refine it.

Every tune is written for your exact combination and fuel, with reliability weighted as heavily as power. Remote tuning keeps running through the move.

Shop talk: what the parts actually do

Ask a question in our Friday live vlogs and Jeremy will give you a straight answer, even when it isn't the one you wanted. These apply whether you drive a HEMI or a Coyote.

Cats are a big restriction

A viewer running a cam tune and shorty headers asked whether high-flow cats were worth it. Jeremy's answer: "from a horsepower standpoint, the cats are one of the biggest restrictions in your exhaust." Going from factory to high-flow cats helps, and because the cats change how the exhaust flows, the car needs a re-tune.

Boost: the positive displacement feel

Twin-screw blowers like Whipple, Magnuson, Kenne Bell, and Edelbrock (and the IHI units on Hellcats) "just amplify and give you the feeling like your displacement is increased," with "a lot of low and mid-range power."

Fuel is the foundation

Big injectors paired with adjustable fuel pressure let a car cruise at around 40 PSI and ramp up to 80, 90, or 100-plus PSI when it counts. That's also why Jeremy doesn't recommend Hellcat injectors for those setups: their pressure-switching fuel system makes them act bigger than they are.

The rules don't change

New building, same standards. We don't write tunes that let street vehicles run with emissions systems removed, and we don't sell delete parts. If a car shows up with a mechanical problem, we pause tuning until it's fixed, because a tune can't fix a broken part.

Let's talk about your car
